You probably use your factory-installed keyless entry system every time you're in and out of your car. How would you like to add on a full-featured security and remote start system - and still use the same keychain transmitter for many of the functions? Code Alarm's AS9233ST upgrade module offers a seamless way to augment your existing keyless entry system with these cool features.

The package includes a glass-mount antenna with built-in LED lights, along with a valet switch that shuts off the system when needed. The dual-stage shock sensor emits a warning chirp at first contact, and will kick in the full alarm if someone gives your ride a hard knock. The system includes a starter interrupt output with relay, so your vehicle won't start for an unauthorized driver. The included onboard relay will flash your lights to confirm system operation and remote start. Best of all, this module works with most diesel and hybrid vehicles.

Everybody in the house will be able to use the system — it will accept up to four remote transmitters. When you want to use the remote start function, use one of the two simple one-button StartStick transmitter included with the package.

Highlights:

  • add-on security and remote-start module for factory keyless entry system
  • package includes module, glass-mount antenna, two extended-range one-button remotes
  • system uses factory keyless entry remotes for operation of security and keyless entry
  • included remotes used for remote start
  • 2-stage shock sensor

Alarm Features

Overview: The Code-Alarm AS9233ST allows you to add security and remote start to your factory keyless entry system. This state-of-the-art system is designed to arm and disarm when it receives a lock or unlock command from your existing factory keyless entry system transmitter. You can also activate the remote start feature using your factory remotes. The AS9233ST comes with two extended-range "StartStick" remotes, which can be used in those areas where the factory transmitter is limited.

StartStick Remotes: The AS9233ST comes with two 1-button, extended-range RF remote transmitters (S1BTXA). These "StickStart" remotes are designed to operate beyond the range of your factory keyless entry remotes.

Glass-Mount Antenna: The included glass-mount antenna includes two LEDs and the valet switch built in. Typically, the antenna is mounted high on your windshield near the rear-view mirror, using the provided dual-sided adhesive pad. This location gives you optimal range for the remotes, high visibility for the status LEDs, and a convenient location for the valet switch/programming button.

Data Bus Interface (DBI) Port: The AS9233ST's control module has a 4-pin Data Bus Interface (DBI) port, which allows you to plug in an optional FlashLogic Transponder/Door Lock/Remote Start Interface directly into the system. These modules, compatible with many late model vehicles, can save considerable installation time by eliminating the need to find and splice various wires within the vehicle. Typical connections that are made with the interfaces include tachometer, brake, door locks, and ignition/starter.

Optional Siren: The AS9233ST does not include a siren, but has an output for an optional siren. If no siren is connected, the system can be configured to honk the horn in the case of an alert or to provide system status confirmation.

Active/Passive Operation: The system can be programmed for passive or active arming and door locking. Active arming/locking requires the use of the remote to arm the system and/or to lock the doors. When programmed for passive operation, the doors lock and the system is armed automatically 30 seconds after the last door is closed.

Vehicle Protection: While the system is armed, the vehicle is protected in several ways. Opening any door, hood, or trunk will cause the alarm to immediately sound, and the vehicle's parking lights will flash for 30 seconds. Whenever the system is armed, the vehicle's starter will be disabled. The system's on-glass antenna has an LED which slowly flashes when the alarm is armed. This acts as a visual deterrent to a potential thief.

Intrusion Warning: If an intrusion attempt has occurred while you were away from your vehicle, the AS9233ST system will inform you when you disarm the system. The horn (or siren, if used) will beep 4 times, and the vehicle's parking lights will flash 3 times. In addition, the on-glass antenna/receiver's LED will provide further information, by flashing one, two, or three times to indicate an intrusion attempt was made at Zone 1, 2, or 3.

Shock Sensor: The system includes the AS9492A dual-stage magnetic shock sensor which will respond with a warning chirp when there is a light impact to the vehicle. Harder impacts will fully trigger the alarm. The shock sensor's sensitivity can be adjusted if needed.

Starter Interrupt Output: When the alarm is triggered, the system will disable the vehicle by interrupting the circuit to the starter via a relay. As long as the system is in alarm mode, the vehicle's engine cannot be started, preventing a possible theft. The relay needed to install this feature is included with the alarm.

Panic Mode: The system's Panic Mode will activate an alert when you press the unlock, then lock, then unlock buttons on your keychain transmitter within three seconds. The transmitter's normal functions are suspended during panic mode, except to allow you to lock or unlock the doors. You can manually shut off the alarm with the transmitter, or the system will automatically stop after 30 seconds.

Valet Switch: The valet switch, located on the glass-mounted antenna/receiver, allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm functions, eliminating the need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants or garage mechanics. In the valet mode, all alarm functions are bypassed, however the remote panic feature and remote door locks will remain operational.

Remote Start Features

Operation: The Code-Alarm AS9233ST can remotely start your vehicle using the factory keyless entry remote transmitters, or the supplied "StartStick" remotes if out of range of the factory remotes. For safety reasons, the system will not start the vehicle if any one of the following conditions exist:

  • The hood is opened
  • The vehicle is in any gear other than Park
  • The brake is depressed
  • The glass-mounted push-button safety control is in Remote Start Bypass mode

Run Times: Once the vehicle has been remotely started, the engine will remain running for a pre-programmed length of time. You can set the run time at 5, 10, 15, 20, 45, or 60 minutes.

Interval Starting: The AS9233ST has the ability to start the vehicle every 2 or 4 hours over a 48-hour period. This is an especially useful feature in cold climates. You can select a two- or four-hour interval, as well as the run times in the programming setup. During this period, you can shut off the engine at any time using the remote transmitter.

Special Vehicle Accommodations: The remote start can accommodate a variety of vehicle engine types. The system comes configured for a gasoline engine, with no delay for the starter output wire. If your vehicle has a diesel engine, you can connect the system's Diesel Wait-to-Start Input wire to the vehicle's glow plug wire. When the glow plug circuit reaches its desired temperature or drops the +12 volts, the starter will engage. The system also features a special compatibility for a hybrid vehicle.

Works great, had it installed in my 2011 F150 (not sure why it didn't come with a factory Remote Start) and it works great, programmed to the existing KeyFob with no problem.
